However, the conclusion that the Bible is inspired is ultimately a step of faith. Even the most capable scholar cannot prove inspiration beyond any doubt. It appears this is just what God intended. Had God wanted the divine origin of the Bible to be an undeniable fact, he could have ensured this in a myriad of ways. Instead, God provided enough evidence to make a strong case, then left us to take that final step on faith. Those who do believe, however, receive the testimony of one further witness:
